Dazzle of Zebras
Ever since I saw East Africa being photographed by Nick Brandt, all I have wanted to do was take black and white shots of the animals there. And which better animal to start the series with than the Zebra!
I have long admired these cool customers. Did you know that the stripes on the Zebra is unique to every individual, just like the human fingerprints? And even though they appear to be too bright and poorly camouflaged, their stripes actually help a herd in appearing like a large mass, making it difficult for predators to pick out individuals.
However, these particular zebras had no trouble standing out. They looked at me, totally ignored me and went back to doing what they do best – staring at the distance and munching on grass nonchalantly!
